Courtney Rippy Levingston, a 2009 Denver Go Run alum, is a City Planner for Fort Collins, CO. With an undergraduate degree in Political Science and a masters’ degree in Urban and Regional Planning, she has always been interested in government and serving her community. In her own words, though, getting involved hasn’t always been that easy:
“As a woman in a municipal planning role, I have found it difficult at times getting where I am today. The lack of females in the profession was discouraging, not to mention how often female opinions are not taken as seriously by institutional powers that be as fellow male colleagues. Go Run has supported women through a tough journey and also helped me realize that I would like to eventually run for office. I have experience in government from the ground up, and the training that Go Run has provided will surely assist me in the future with accomplishing my dreams.”
